Sunday, August 24, 2025: “Light in the Twilight: The First Patriarch of the New World” (Presentation on New Holy Confessor Patriarch Tikhon of Moscow and All Russia)

“Light in the Twilight: The First Patriarch of the New World”

Presented by Protodeacon Andrei Psarev, Ph.D. Holy Trinity Orthodox Theological Seminary Jordanville, NY

About the Lecture: This year marks 100 years since the repose of the New Holy Confessor Patriarch Tikhon of Moscow and All Russia. St. Tikhon was a visionary leader who implemented the concept of the All-American Council and guided the Church both in the New World and later, amid persecution in Soviet Russia. In 1917, he became the first patriarch in nearly 200 years and was soon faced with the task of charting a path for a Church stripped of all legal rights under an atheist regime.
